The Hospital by Jan de Hartog is a First Edition, First Printing [it states on the copyright page, "First Edition," with no number line listed] in near fine condition in a near fine to very good dj. The book is clean and the binding is tight. This was a gift, there is an inscription on the 2nd front end page. 

The dj has been price clipped. There is some edge wear, and some chipping at the top of the spine. On the back of dj there are two [approximately one inch] tears along the top edge. There is some wear at the corners and at the bottom of the spine. Dj is slightly skuffed.

This is a hard to find rare First edition of The Hospital.
