Extremely Rare!

Circa 1910

11.5 Inches in Height

THE POSTHUMOUS PAPERS OF THE PICKWICK CLUB

Charles Dickens

Illustrated by Cecil Aldin

Two Volumes (complete)

E.P. Dutton

Printed in London (as stated)

This is a first edition of this publisher

Beautiful condition. Absolutely so very rare in this condition!

Gorgeous Gray Tan boards with elaborate gilt titles and designs on both spines. Both volumes have elaborate gilt design in a square shape on front boards. Uncut  page edges, beautiful thick paper. Oh my, the color plates are just immaculate, all with textual tissue guards. The black and white color illustrations are equisite throughout both volumes. These volumes are not shy measuring over 11 inches tall, two inches thick. All pages, plates and designs are complete and in binding. There is hardly any rubbing at all on the boards!  The spines are almost perfect! I am having a hard time finding the flaws. You will never see a set in this condition again. I believe these books were published in 1910; however there is a 1913 inscription on both volumes in the back of the book on the white endpapers from the owner. There is a name stamp and a real signature. Each volume is over 400 pages. It really is a treasure. Cecil Aldin did quite a job here. Approx 12 color plates in each volume, and tons of textual illustrations throughout. The pages are very “clean” and thick. This set has probably never been read. I give you my treasure.. Enjoy!

Below are some pics.. Good Luck
