*** This is the book that was originally sold by Amazon.com and quickly sold out. It is still completely sealed in the protective cellophane wrapper that it came from Amazon. Here are some of the features of this unique collector's item that will surely increase in value.

*** The book was originally produced in a limited edition of only seven copies, each handwritten and illustrated by J. K. Rowling. One of them was offered for auction in late 2007 and was expected to sell for $103,000; ultimately it was bought for $3.98 million by Amazon.com, making the selling price the highest achieved at auction for a modern literary manuscript. The money earned at the auction of the book was donated to The Children's Voice charity campaign.

*** The book was published for the general public on 4 December 2008. All of the proceeds that Amazon made from the selling of this special edition were also donated to charity.

*** While multiple copies of the paperback are available, only 100,000 copies of the Collector's Edition were made available by Amazon. This is one of those few copies. There are no longer any available from Amazon.
