The World and the Prophets opens new fields of exploration concerning
the prophets, their prophecies, and the effect of both on the world,
which too often rejected them and their message. The author analyzes
the qualities and characteristics of a true prophet and contrasts them
wtih the false substitutes of mysticism, philosophy, and rhetoric. He
indicates how false doctrine crept into the true Church. The World and the Prophets shows how the rites and ordinances of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints differ in intent from those of other churches; in the Church the emphasis is on the pristine quality of them: That they are the same as existed in the beginning when God gave them to man for his direction and salvation. Book is hardcover in good condition. Dustjacket has quite a bit of wear and tears. Good condition, with moderate wear to the cover. Copyright 1954, 281 pages. No marks in the text. |
