This wonderful print was made about 35 years ago from a hand colored cartoon by Thomas Rowlandson. It shows a man of the cloth seated before his fire. A lovely young lady is seated on his lap. The look on the parson's face is positively lecherous.
Thomas Rowlandson was Great Britain's premier cartoonist and illustrator in the late 18th and early 19th century. While his more "proper" work is frequently published, his erotic or amorous work is seen very infrequently. While often graphic in nature, it is generally wonderfully humorous, as can be seen in this fine example.
The item is printed on very nice heavy stock. The paper size is about 9 1/4 x 12 inches; image size about 7 by 8 3/4 inches; blank on the reverse, and highly highly suitable for framing.
