TOM'S-LANCE SNACK STORE JAR MARKED FISHERS 40s IN BOX

Beautiful and as manufactured condition vintage snack jar still sealed in it's original carton.

Anchor Hocking made this exact jar for many companies and in large quantities for Toms and Lance in 1946 and Gordons in 1947. Even though I have seen many from those companies over the years, never one in it's box. This was made in 1946 for a small bakery so there never were many. The ones used in stores have been absorbed into private collections or broken but this one I removed from the attic of the original bakery owner's house. Once in a while I see one of the bigger companies' jars still in the box but they are all 70's or later. Never have I seen one as early as this one for sale unopened.

As they say on the Roadshow, they are always worth more in the original box!

This jar is certain to become more valuable over the years.

This is one of the first orders filled by the newly formed snack jar division of Anchor Hocking Glass Company! The manufacturers invoice says "Tom's-Lance jar : Fishers Peanut Butter Sandwiches : 2 gallon".
