THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL GROUP OF VENETIAN PADRE BEADS, WITH THE TRANSLUCENT BLUE COLOR. PADRE BEADS WERE ONE OF THE FIRST AMERICAN INDIAN TRADE BEADS, AND BLUE WAS A FAVORITE COLOR. THEY COULD CAN DATE TO THE 1600'S, BUT THESE BEADS PROBABLY DATE TO MID 1800'S TIME FRAME. TRADE BEADS FROM THE 1500'S TO EARLY 1900'S WERE MADE IN VENICE AND BOHEMIA AND WERE TRADED FOR VARIOUS TRADE GOODS, IN MANY COUNTRIES, INCLUDING NORTH AMERICA AND THE NATIVE AMERICANS. 25 BEADS, IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, WITH NORMAL SURFACE WEAR, ABOUT 6MM TO 7.5MM IN WIDTH, 8.5MM TO 10MM IN DIAMETER, 3MM TO 5MM CENTER HOLE.
