WHERE YOUR ROAD LEADS is another winner from Trisha Yearwood, a singer of undeniable talent and often astonishing prowess. This is an excellent collection of songs about relationships, good and bad. Yearwood's vocal chops get a serious workout on the opening track, "There Goes My Baby," as she soars to Roy Orbison-like heights to tell the story of a woman who lets a good man slip away. She handles ballads like "Love Wouldn't Lie To Me" with a delicate, Tammy Wynette-like finesse, but she's at her most impressive when belting out you-done-me-wrong rockers like "Wouldn't Any Woman." Another highlight is "I'll Still Love You More," a killer ballad written by Diane "How Do I Live" Warren. Garth Brooks provides harmony on the title track, a big production number complete with a choir. But the real winner is "Bring Me All Your Loving," in which Trisha's longing vocals (and Buddy Miller's harmonies) bring to life a track purposely designed to echo the Stones' "Wild Horses."
