The revolutionary opera A True Daughter of the Party, People's Prize laureate, tells impressively of the heroic exploits of a woman fighter who devoted her youth and life without hesitation to the Party and the Leader and to the revolution during the great Fatherland Liberation War of the Korean people against the U.S. imperialist armed aggressors.

Nurse Kang Yon Ok, heroine of the opera, is a non-Party member. On the fields of arduous battle she is deeply moved by the unyielding revolutionary spirit of members of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Who's entitled to become a member of the Workers' Party of Korea, a true revolutionary soldier of the great Leader Comrade Kim II Sung, and how must one live and struggle to add lustre to the honour of being Party member? The opera puts such a significant problem. Through the heroic struggle of the heroine the opera shows vividly that the Party member is a revolutionary fighting devotedly for the respected and beloved Leader and the Workers' Party of Korea led by him, and for the revolution.

Although still young nurse, Yon Ok receives a task to send seriously wounded soldiers to the far-off hospital in the rear. She does her utmost to save revolutionary comrades, fighting the enemy, U.S. imperialists, going over steep mountains and crossing rivers.

Yon Ok who has striven to become a true daughter of the Leader with boundless reverence for and burning loyalty to him is admitted to the Workers' Party of Korea honourably at the front. Later, she dies a heroic death, after blocking the enemy's bullets with her own breast to save a patient.

Through the depiction of noble communist traits of the heroine who always lives for the sake of the Leader, filled with unreserved fidelity to the Leader, the revolutionary opera shows that invincible is the Workers' Party of Korea led by the great Leader Comrade Kim II Sung, and that no inclement storm and bitter trials can check the road ahead of our people.
