Despite the aggressive title and participation of jungle noise terrorist Panacea, this is a surprisingly mild tech-step affair. Perfect for Force Inc. sub-label Position Chrome, World Domination Enterprises is a notch harder than atmospheric drum'n'bass, yet well beneath the frenetic pace of most rolling jungle tracks.

Similar to the way Force Inc. techno is too driven to be ambient, but too slow for the dancefloor. Dark chords fill out the medium-tempo breakbeats on "Black Soul Warrior" and "Motion Theory" with nice effect, although the attacking basslines on "The Catalyst" and "Protection" seem to lack the visceral depth of good drum'n'bass. More irritating are the 15- to 30-second interludes between each track, which become completely unnecessary after the first few. This is a competent take on drum'n'bass, but Twintone takes far too few sonic chances to be compelling. - by Joshua Glazer
