TWO EASTER ISLAND MOAI TIKI SCULPTURES

This offering is for a set of two (2) sculptures. Inspired by the mysterious giant stone Moai of Easter Island. 

There are many beautiful Moai statues available on the market.  Some great concrete models are offered right here on eBay along with plaster, plastic, resin and the ocassional wood carving.   As an alternative to an extremely expensive stone Moai, you would do well to consider these terrazzo finished concrete statues- the finishing process makes these different than anything else on the market.  I start by casting a blank in a light weight concrete mixture which is then shaped and smoothed to finish.  As with terrazzo (see footnote), the surface layer of concrete is ground away to reveal the colors and patterns of the underlying aggregate material. The natural variations of the exposed aggregate and the small pits give the appearance of  a smooth, weathered piece of speckled granite stone.  As a result of the hand crafting process, no 2 are exactly alike and each has a slightly different appearance and personality.   The process is a bit labor intensive but the results are worth the effort. Color varies from one to the next but you will receive two that are closely matched in the grey-buff color.  

Approximately 10 ½ inches in height.  Finished with a protective clear coat.  This is an actual concrete product, not resin or plaster.  It definitely looks good enough to be displayed indoors as a compliment to a tiki mug collection or among a group of tropical house plants. It is also durable enough for outdoors and makes a stoic guardian watching over a garden, pool or pond area.
