| Tables for the Determination of Common Opaque Minerals by Paul G. Spry and Brian L. Gedlinske, 1987 This is a very useful reference book for anyone interested in opaque minerals, or as many geologists call them, the ore minerals. It is structured for the use of polarized reflected light microscopy, although the tables include other information such as compositions. There are 51 pages, mainly in tabular format, and organized by physical properties such as colored vs non-colored, pleochroism, internal cleavage, hardness, etc. There are no photos or colored plates, strictly text. It is written by two of the real authorities in this subject, and published as a paper back booklet by Economic Geology. The book is in very good unused condition, with a little page yellowing and fading of the blue cover. I thought my batch of these was gone (except a keeper for my own reference), but this one appeared on a back shelf, so here it is -- the last of many I have sold. If you are not satisfied, return it in the same condition for a refund of your purchase price (not shipping). As always, local pickup is free. I will ship this book for a low fixed price of $2 to Canadian addresses and $4 to anywhere else in the world, via letter air mail in a padded envelope. We promise to mail it within two work days, but please be patient as international mail delivery can be slow. Feel free to ask questions, and please look at our other Stones2Gems store items as well. Before you buy any of our items, please review our Store Policies. Also see our two eBay guides for buying and using microscopes, and if you find them to be helpful, please check the box at the bottom of those pages. We appreciate your interest.. |
