Tad Lincoln's Father HB 1931 Signed by the Author

Julia Taft watched over her brothers who were playmates of President Lincoln's sons Willie and Tad.  At the tender age of 16 she had unfettered access to the Lincoln White House and to President and Mrs. Lincoln and their family.  Her reminiscences of that time, prior to Willie's death, and during the beginnings of the Civil War, were captured in this book shortly before her own death in 1933.   Though short stories had been published prior to this work, this volume is the first complete telling of her experience.  It has been signed by her.  The book is in very good condition, the jacket is gone but the end pieces of the jacket remain.  There are 8 illustrations.   President Lincoln 1861 from a photograph given by him to Julia.  Willie Lincoln from a photograph given by him to Julia.   Mrs. Lincoln with Willie and Tad from a photograph in the collection of Frederick H.
