Description:
This charming antique Nippon porcelain vase is a wonderful combination of beauty and art. The vase displays a unique Limoges style porcelain form with two arched and scrolled gold handles, a graceful narrow neck and round trumpet form rim. The bulbous ovoid body narrows at the bottom, with gold footed base.
The lattice - suspender styled raised gold Moriage decoration demonstrates the expertise of its maker, as if looking at a beautiful rose garden through a gold fence. The hand painted roses were painted in soft red, mauve, pink, and amber hues on a pastel green/ivory background. The lifelike green leaves and brown thorny stems add a realistic touch to the art. The floral portrait was given a matte finish glaze.
The hand painted porcelain vase was made circa 1911, bearing authentic antique Nippon Mark 47, M in Wreath Hand Painted Nippon. It measures just under 11 inches in height and 6 3/4 inches in diameter. The vase displays both gracefully and beautifully. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, or repairs, and is truly a work of art. Noted is fading to the gold on the handles, consistent with its age. We know you will love it as much as we do. See our other auction for its matching mate. This auction is for vase B only.
