MacConnal-Mason Catalogue. 'Clipper Days' Works by Henry Scott FRSA
Henry Scott is amongst the World's leading Marine painters. To portray a Clipper being driven hard in a gale lashed sea, becalmed in the Doldrums, shortening sail to prepare for the gathering storm, or an anchorage at Foochow, requires a knowledge of sea and sail, which few artists possess. Years of service in the Royal Navy during the War has endowed Scott with this knowledge.
Narrative is by Clare Francis, whose fame and achievement as a yachtswoman are well known. In addition, there are comments by the Rt. Hon. Edward Heath.
A wonderful catalogue of Scott's work, plus factual and annecdotal narrative by Clare Francis.
Condition: Slight marks on the back, bottom left hand corner, otherwise in very good condition.
