This is 8+ Lbs of raw unwashed wool. This fleece is from my sheep shearer's herd. I will be listing alot of his fleeces this year. He had all his fleece professionally graded on July 9th, 2009 by Rodney Kott from Montana State University. This fleece is from a Targhee, Merino. These sheep did not wear jackets, so there is V.M., and dirt. I do skirt all fleece to the best of my knowledge on skirting. They were skirted at shearing time plus I go through all fleeces before I list them. Please read the great feedback I have recieved on these fleeces. All of these fleeces are from 2009 shearing. The book "In sheeps clothing" states the following about Targhee. "The extraordinary loft and elasticity of Targhee make it particularly suitable for fine, light, knitted and woven fibrices with good shape retention and crease resistance". Merino - "the fleece is used for high-quality apparel. Handspinners find it valuable for baby wear, and fine next to-the-skin adult garments. Length - 4 1/4" Weight - 8 lbs 5 oz (approx) Color - White Feel - Soft Wool type - Medium to Fine Grade - 60's Crimp is nice and even Thank you for looking and Happy Bidding Please check out my other auctions.
