Obverse: IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG, laureate draped bust right of Hadrian Reverse: P M TR P COS III, Oceanus reclining left on dolphin, wearing crab-claw headdress & holding anchor above This is a very fine and quite scarce example of this Roman Imperial silver denarius . It weighs 3.1 grams and is 19 millimeters wide. It is lightly toned and certainly a coin you don't see to often. Good luck!!!!! Tater The Roman silver denarius was first struck in 211 b.c. it was the most common denomination of silver coin and was minted until the late 3rd century. Over the years the coins weight was reduced to around 3 grams.
