Baker, a Republican, represented Tennessee in the House of Representatives for two terms from 1971 to 1975, when he lost his seat. He died in 2003.
This 3x5 comes from a massive political autograph collection assembled in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. It contains both the well known and the seemingly unknown. From governors Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan to Supreme Court justices; from Margaret Chase Smith and Shirley Chisholm to Tip O’Neill and Sam Ervin. The collection has been authenticated by a letter from James Spence (see right), whose expertise in the field of autographs is unsurpassed. A copy of this letter will be provided to the buyer upon request.
