Oya Needle Lace Technique

With the awards I have won for the N.O.S.T. © bears in the picture (the Bear on the left won the Swiss Teddy 2007 award, bear on the right won TITA 2008 in its category), I received lots of interest, not only for my bears, but also for the Oya flowers my bears were embellished with. These 3-D flowers were made with Oya Needle-Lace technique, a very old, almost forgotten art. Oya can be made in crochet, tatting or beading, but the most fine and delicate Oya flowers are made in Needle Lace.

I learned this beautiful art from a Turkish lady. She taught me by showing me, no patterns were used. That`s how Oya Lace has traditionally been passed on; forwarded to the next generations. In ThReAdTeDs® Oya Guide I teach the technique the same way..showing you with many images, as if I were sitting next to you, answering questions that you don't yet know that you have!

After learning the Oya technique with ThReAdTeDs® Oya Guide, you are ready for the first project.

The first DEMO© booklet "VIOLET" comes with the Guide. There wil be more DEMO© booklets with new designs available in the future. These DEMO© booklets are only useful for you, AFTER having worked through the main Guide and learned the technique: they are not a Stand-Alone study Guide!
