This auction is for both the pin and the vice (1 pin & 1 vice). I have installed the pin into the vice for you already (they do not go in perfectly, but once they are in they function optimally). When I used to clean coins, this was THE pin to use (and any real 'coin cleaner' knows that mechanical cleaning is the only way to go). It's obvious use is for detailing, but it is so much more! You see, the diamond coating will also allow you to clean away surface debris without having to press too hard and risking scratching the patina. This can be accomplished by holding the pin at an angle that is parallel to the surface of the coin (you will be holding the vice of course). Parallel means you will hold it on its side- DO NOT USE THE POINT DIRECTLY ON THE FIELDS OF A COIN BECAUSE IT WILL SCRATCH IT! Use small circles to grind away the dirt. Use a q-tip to clean away the dirt and repeat as necessary. It can also be used to fleck away certain types of dirt. Again work parallel with the surface of the coin, get the tip of the pin under the dirt and gently lift (this only works on coins with that type of dirt). This pin works optimally on dirt and smaller encrustations (like those smaller green blobs and smaller imperfections). I do not recommend using it on large spots of corrosion as that will put uneccesary wear on it and it will not last as long. I recommend highly that you use at least 10x magnification while using any mechanical method to avoid damaging the coin. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT- Always practice on lowgrade reject coins to get good at it before attempting it on the good ones. A NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please make sure this item can pass through your country's customs (it may be misconstrude as a weapon).
