The Bombing Of Pearl Harbor on DVD
A Collection of WWII Films and Newsreels Portraying the
Japanese
Attack on Pearl in World War II and U.S. Navy Life in Hawaii
Pearl Harbor has played a pivotal role in the United States. It was used
as a Navy base for generations and was the only part of the United States
attacked by enemy troops in World War II. This collection of films explores
Hawaii during the events leading up to and including December 7, 1942.
The collection has a total run time of 1 hour 11 minutes.
Here are the films in this collection:
1) News Parade: Bombing of Pearl Harbor (1942) - This news parade episode
shows footage of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the fire aboard the S.S.
Normandie in New York.
2) World at War (1942) - This film is a step by step portrayal of the
war events that led up to the bombing of Pearl harbor and the total world
war. It shows the massacre of Ethiopia, the invasion of Austria and Czechoslovakia,
the blitz of Poland and the fall of France.
3) Crossroads Of The Pacific - This is a pre World War II newsreel showing
Hawaii as a Naval base. It is a good portrayal of life in the Navy for
those stationed at Pearl Harbor at that time.
4) Avenge December 7 (Pearl Harbor) (1942) - This is a war bond film
pushing the American populace into a frenzy of vengence against Japan
for the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
5) Pearl Harbor - A two minute newsreel designed to show the tragic reality
of WWII to the American public. Includes the attack on Pearl Harbor as
well as Japanese atrocities and European war scenes.
6) Pearl Harbor (short version) (1942) - A film made just after the bombing
to show its impact on the U.S. entry into WWII.
