Synopsis
Louis Eppolito and Stephen Caracappa were New York police officers with part-time jobs as hit-men for the Mafia. Caracappa was a morose and taciturn character; Eppolito was a fat, flamboyant fellow who had the gall to publish a memoir titled MAFIA COP. Their downfall began when the Lucchese godfather Anthony "Gaspipe" Casso offered them up to the FBI as an attempt to get out of a life prison sentence. It took a decade, however, for the police to put together their case, with detective William Oldham playing a major part. THE BROTHERHOODS, written by crime reporter Guy Lawson in conjunction with Oldham, tells the tabloid-ready story, and its 528 pages are packed with gritty details. Though ostensibly focusing on the Mafia cops, some of the most fascinating sections revolve around Oldham and the weird, often lawless, world of the police. Readers will be familiar with tales of greasy mobster villains, but the corruption in the NYPD might give them a few shivers.

You are bidding on "The Brotherhoods" the true story of two cops who murdered for the Mafia, by Guy Lawson and William Oldham, 2006, 511 pages, hardback with dustjacket, in unread condition, black mark on the outside bottom edge.

Chilling chronicle of the shocking crimes of NYPD detectives Stephen Caracappa and Louis Eppolito, notorious rogue cops found guilty in April 2006 of the ultimate form of police corruption-shielding their criminal deeds behind their badges while they worked for the mafia. Their crimes include participation in the murders of at least eight men, kidnapping, and the betrayal of an entire generation of New York City detectives, federal agents, and prosecutors.

This gripping, true-life detective story is remarkable for its psychological intrigue, criminal audacity, and paranoid, blood-soaked fury. Provides unparalleled access to the secretive workings of both the NYPD and organized crime-their hierarchies, rituals, and codes of conduct.

High bidder to pay $3.00 s/h, includes tracking number. I am happy to combine shipping. Thank you and good luck.
