Description: Brown covers stamped with rules and title surrounded by flower wreath front and back, with gilt on center front. Different design in gilt on spine. Chocolate coated end papers. BW illustrations. Includes an appendix giving names of many prisoners.

Condition: Spine ends worn and cover corners rubbed bare. Missing front and back endpapers, as well as frontis portrait of the author. Front and back covers are warped and wrinkled (see photo).  Dampstains throughout (but there is no mildew smell to the book). Binding is tight - separated in a few places (no loose pages). A few random pencil marks, but otherwise clean interior
