| THE COLLECTING OF ANTIQUES, by Esther Singleton, c. 1926. MacMillan hardback, no dustjacket, NOT a library copy. Illustrated with vintage black and white photos. 338 pages. Paper is glossy and WHITE (not at all yellow as it appears in photos --- I was having lighting trouble!). Book has bumped corners, back hinge starting to crack, owner's name & date 1930 on endpapers, LONG inscription dated both 1927 and 1930 on reverse of frontispiece. About 10 pages have underlining, or notations in margins. Third photo shows the WORST of these...they are not really distracting and only add to the charm of a young woman trying to learn all about antiques in 1930. Book comprehensively covers china, silver, glass, furniture, & miscellaneous metalware. NOTE FLAWS & BID ACCORDINGLY --- but book is generally better condition than it sounds. Nonsmoking home. SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS for more old books! Will combine shipping. Will ship to United States ONLY; PayPal welcome; NO RESERVE! |
