This was the peak of Robert Taylor's time in the movies. All of his good looks and abilities were in play here in the 1938 Metro Goldwyn Mayer Boxing Drama...."The Crowd Roars". Not to be confused with the Cagney film of a few years earlier, this story is that of a young boxer with a less than perfect father played by Frank Morgan who hooks him up with Edward Arnold.....who Taylor does'nt know is a big time crime boss....which Arnold always seemed to play in the movies[God Bless Him]. Arnold has a beautiful daughter who is played by Tarzan's Jane....Maureen O'Sullivan. This causes problems later in the film. This lobby card is a close-up shot of Robert Taylor and Maureen O'Sullivan out on a lake getting to know each other a little bit better. The tag line reads....."I've Dreamed Of Happiness Like This....And Now I've Got It!". Condition wise I would grade this card good as it has been trimmed slightly at the boarder edges to 10 3/4 inches by 13 3/4 inches. A 1/2 inch tear in the left side boarder center and a couple of pinholes.Corners have some slight dings but are not creased. A nice card that deserves a good home. Please ask any and all questions you may have here.International Bidders are always welcome. Thank you so much for looking here today. |
