Book is in brand new, excellent condition! Pages are clean and smooth, no folds or rips. Dust jacket is shiny and spotless and is not clipped. I bought this book at full price of $24.95 in 1992. I loved it and thought it was so cute to give as a gift, but never got around to it. It has been carefully stored in my bookcase with the doors closed ever since.
This rare book will make a great gift! It is a compilation of 4 previously published books about the Brambly Hedge community of field mice during each season of the year. It has 144 pages. It includes a bonus section entitled: A Conversation With Jill Barklem where she tells about the origins and development of these stories. Although the reading level is listed at ages 9 to 12, younger children will enjoy looking at the beautiful illustrations while listening to the book read to them. The book is filled with numerous full color illustrations. Readers of all ages will enjoy this book.
I have seen other shorter (about 32 pages long) Brambly Hedge books listed on Ebay for about this price and sometimes higher. This $9.99 price is a bargain! As of May 8, the price range on Amazon.com for this book is $49.91 - $150 and Half.com sellers list it from $79.87 - $150. And these prices are for used copies of this book! I believe this book is out of print. and no longer available at retail stores. It is rare and hard to find which may explain the high prices.
