SIGNED BY AUTHORS!!!!

The History of Los Angeles Graffiti Art, Volume 1, 1983-1988 is the first book in a series of four books that will cover the years 1983 to 2005.   Volume 1 is based on the years 1983 to 1988 and is the starting point to the real story behind the movement that began in the early 1980s.  The book documents all aspects of Los Angeles Graffiti Art, while keeping it real and uncut.  Some pictures may seem familiar, while others may not.  This book will provide you with an unbiased look into this world through the eyes of the people that have lived it.

Within the book, you will discover the truth behind the photos and stories.  All interviews and DVD slideshows are uncut and real.  It’s exciting and fresh to the point of understanding our culture, without cutting it up.

The first volume contains over 447 pages and includes the following sections:

Experiences — Every volume contains 58 exclusive detailed interviews.  These interviews are “free-style,” not scripted, and are based on each writer’s experience, personal views and memories.

Spotlights — Special tribute to all writers who made significant contributions and influences to the L.A. Graff scene.

Pieces/Burners — Common to never seen before Pieces/Burners showcasing familiar works as well as numerous lost and legendary Pieces/Burners.

Battles — A special section dedicated to L.A.’s first battles between some of the most prolific crews and writers of our first era.

Blackbooks — Historical detailed drawings done within sketch books called “Blackbooks.”

Articles — Newspaper and magazine pieces related to historical L.A. Graff subject matter.

R.I.P. — Memorials for all respected deceased Los Angeles Graffiti writers.

DVD — A DVD is included with each book.  Each DVD contains over 30 slide shows of various L.A. writers.  The DVDs will consist of the graffiti writers breathing life into their own work.  The DVDs are uncut, raw and true.  The authors were very fortunate to obtain these exclusive commentaries.  Readers will be able to place a voice on the parade of slides from the respective writers.

The support for this project has been overwhelming.  This project would not be possible without the contributions of the Los Angeles Graffiti Writers and everyone else that made this book possible!  Their contributions and willingness to tell their stories and share their personal memories makes this project so real and true to what Los Angeles stands for.
