The Hub W.H. Upton Leadville, Colo. Whiskey Bottle

This beautiful and rare clear half pint Leadville whisky bottle is from The Hub, circa 1899. The Hub was located next-door to the Pioneer, on the infamous State Street in Leadville, Colorado. The bottle was located at a depth of 18 feet in an old privy 2 blocks from The Hub location. It measures 5 3/4" tall (with cap) by 3 1/4" across by 1 1/8" thick. Making this bottle even more rare, it features its original pewter cap, with ground top opening and has no cracks.

Q: What is the condition of the item? Any cracks?
A. The condition of the bottle is best showed in the photos. No cracks. There is a slight flaw, broken bubble or chip on the E of THE as seen in the photos and a very small, smooth chip missing at the top of the threads along the seam; likely, this was created when the top was first put on the bottle during manufacturer. Q. How may of these exist?
A. We are only aware of 5. Four dug from the same hole. More may be out there, but we are not aware of them.
