The In Crowd 1988 Jennifer Runyon Donovan Leitch RARE!

ITEM: This is a RARE VHS/NTSC/SP (that means that it will play in US VCRs and that it is recorded in the 2 hour/standard play mode) factory ORIGINAL pre-record (that means it's NOT a bootleg) on the Orion Home Video label (item # 8708) of The In Crowd, a really terrific and very underrated 1988 set-in-the-mid-'60s rock 'n' roll musical starring Donovan Leitch, Jennifer Runyon, Joe Pantoliano, Sean Sullivan, Scott Plank, Wendy Gazelle and Peter Boyle. In color, rated 'PG', running time 95 minutes. From the back of the box: "It was their music, their dancing, and the '60's was their time! It's 1965 and the electrifying performances of talented teenagers on an afterschool telecast, Dance Party, make them the idols of every teen in Philadelphia. Among them is Del Green (Donovan Leitch, son of '60's rock star Donovan), a preppy scholar who fantasizes about the show's golden girl, Vicky (Jennifer Runyon). Del crashes the show's set where scheming host Perry Parker (Joe Pantoliano) teams him with Vicky because her boyfriend/dance partner Dugan (Scott Plank) has been arrested. They become the show's new star couple, as Perry pushes them into a publicized romance. But Vicky's stuck on Dugan and the kindly but naive Del picks her up on Saturday nights so that she can date Dugan without her father's knowledge. Del eventually must make a choice between staying with the 'in crowd' or returning to his friends from suburbia. But first, he meets Dugan in an energetic and thrilling dance challenge to determine who is tops." This film is NOT ON DVD and seems highly unlikely to turn up in the digital format anytime soon (if ever), so if you're a fan of Donovan Leitch, Jennifer Runyon, Joe Pantoliano or of rock 'n' roll musicals in general, then please be sure to check out this auction.

CONDITION: The sliplseeve display box is intact and in pretty good condition, with a little fading to the front cover, some minor wear to the corners and edges (please see scan below); the tape itself - with the exception of a bad patch between the 22- and 23-minute marks (some lines, blips, a few dropouts), during Del's first appearance on Perry Parker's show - plays great (I have watched it all the way through myself).

Again, I sell nothing but original pre-records - NO BOOTLEGS WHATSOEVER (unlike some sellers on eBay - you know who you are). All of my tapes (with the exception of new ones still in their original shrinkwrap) have been watched all or most of the way through, by me personally, and thus checked for defects; conditions of packaging are exactly as described for each item. My personal belief as a seller is that honesty is the best policy. I know that as a buyer on eBay (which I was for a long time before I became a seller) that truthfulness is the quality I most appreciate in a seller. Unless your demands or expectations are just completely unreasonable, more than likely I will take it back and refund your money in full (that is the price of purchase plus initial shipping costs). Like I said, I started out as a buyer on eBay, so I know what I like to expect from sellers and I try my darndest to provide that to my buyers. I also clean my items thoroughly and carefully, removing stickers, wiping away dirt and grime, while preserving the item’s condition.

In accordance with eBay's new 'paperless' policies, acceptable forms of payment are Paypal PERIOD. Do NOT send me a personal check; I don't have time to wait for it to clear the bank and you probably won't appreciate the delay either. Again, do NOT send me a check. Buyer MUST contact seller within THREE (3) DAYS of auction’s end to declare means of payment. Payment MUST be received within TEN (10) DAYS of auction closing or item(s) will be re-listed and an unpaid item claim WILL BE against the winning bidder. This is how I make my living, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable for me to get a little testy when the money doesn’t show up in a timely fashion. I ALWAYS ship within 48 hours of receiving payment (and, more often than not, in less than 24); the sooner I get the money, the sooner I will ship you your item. (Sorry if the previous sentences come across as rude or peremptory, but experience has taught me that one must be as pellucid as possible in these matters.)

FEEDBACK POLICY: I leave positive feedback for buyers AS SOON AS I am paid. As far as I am concerned, as soon as a buyer pays, he/she has done everything he/she is obliged to do, thank you very much. (Though, of course, I do appreciate having the favor returned in kind once the merchandise has been received and found to be satisfactory.)

PLEASE: Absolutely NO “auction-stacking” will be accepted by this buyer. “Auction-stacking” is when a winning bidder tells me that he/she wants to delay payment because he/she is also bidding on another of my auctions that ends the following week (or the following week…) and he/she wants to save money on s&h. Normally, I would oblige, but I’ve been taken advantage of when I have allowed this in the past. So, please pay for the auctions you win the week you win them - no exceptions. If you have a problem with this policy, then please refrain from bidding on my items.

SHIPPING POLICY: Despite recent postal rate increases, I still offer reduced price Media Mail shipping and handling to all (domestic/US) winning bidders on my auctions - $2.00 for this item. If you need it sooner/quicker, though, I can ship this item via Priority Mail for $6.25. For most buyers outside the U.S., I ship First-Class Mail International (which takes about 7-10 business days), $9.50 for this tape for most countries ($4.50 for Canada). PLEASE NOTE that I cannot insure shipments to foreign countries. If you have any questions, please e-mail me with the specific country of destination and I will give you a specific quote. Multiple items going to the same mailing address can, of course, be combined into one package to save on shipping costs (for example, two tapes going to the same address will probably only cost you an additional $1.00, not counting any additional shipping options).
