Chapter 1 is Humble Beginnings. Ed explains how he got into the restaurant business from being a professional musician and teacher. In 1964 the Anchor Inn became Port Edward and will celebrate it's 44th anniversary this year.
The unique features include a lifesize windmill to dine in and enjoy the cozy ambiance. The Porpoise, a 25 ft. sailboat built in 1934 by naval architect John Deering now sits in the restaurant's indoor harbour for cozy and romantic dinners with seating for up to four comfortably. The salem lounge has floor to ceiling glass windows with a panoramic view of the Fox River. Also within the restaurant you will find The Waterfront Lobby, The Sea Shanty that over looks the Porpoise, surrounded by authentic whaling harpoons and soft warm light cascading down from weathered lobster cage fixtures. Then there is The Navigator's Room, which is the original 50' x 70' part of the building filled with nautical treasures from all over the world! For the wine lover, there is a fabulous wine celler that is home to over 3,500 bottles of wine from 355 different producers and has been recoginized with the coveted Wine Spectator of Excellence.
Port Edward features A Friday Night International Seafood Buffet with specialties from around the world and topped off with an authentic sushi bar. there is aslo the sumptuous Sunday Champagne Brunch, featuring omelets, egg benedict, seafood selections, a carving station, plus dozens of other selections as well as a delectable dessert table!
