The 12 BRIGHT L.E.D. bulbs are controlled by computer powerchips to minimize consumption and maximize output. I know it would be a lie to claim this green machine generates more power than it consumes, but it sure seems like it !
I feel that when this energy miser lamp is OFF, I'm losing out.

FOR YOU HOBBYISTS AND TINKERERS: Though this super green AC adapter is equipped with a standard 4.5 Volt jack that can power ANY device that uses 3 AA or 3 AAA batteries and has an input jack - I have taken this green thing even further.
I cut off the end, and I hook it directly up to any battery-operated device that I want to power for pennies per year. That's right, I just separate the two wires, attach to the battery contacts - one to the positive (+) and one to the negative (-) inside the battery compartment. It may sound nuts to you, but I have this player with battery-operated speakers, and I used to kick myself whenever I forgot to turn it off, and let the batteries run down. Now, I couldn't care less how long it stays on when it costs pennies per year to operate.
It's really easy to hook up, but it only works with devices using 3 AA or 3 AAA batteries (4.5 Volts total).
I have several of these desk lamps hooked up to those EASY SWITCH wireless ON/OFF switches that you must have seen by now. I have another I use as a picture light to spotlight a statue I have. For that, I wrenched off the base and connected the two wires directly to the two wires from the AC adapter. I can leave it on indefinitely, so my prized statue is always lit.
