Savage is the operative word for perhaps the funniest crank call collection ever released. A Christian radio talk show in Portland, Oregon was relentlessly pranked by a merry band of lunatics over a three year period, and this classic CD presents the hilarious NHFA prank calls in all their glory. From queries about finding a good Christian abortionist to bizarre prayer healing requests, this amazing CD hits those bibles below the belt! While this requires more patience than some of the other prank calls you may have heard before reaching the final payoff, there are plenty of choice moments throughout the calls, such as riffs on the Church of the Subgenius, gays in the military, gluttony, and Michael Jackson being a Jehovah's Witness. Lots of background music and sounds effects are thrown in to add to the call's overall effect. The prank calls heard on this CD were made to the Christian radio station KPDQ in Portland over a three year period. KPDQ was an outpost of the Oregon Citizens Alliance who campaigned heavily against homosexuals and pregnant women. The Hardwood Floors turned this oppressive talk radio show into an opportunity to inject humor, theater, absurdity, and unpredictability into the show's format. Callers assumed names and identities, personal problems and differences of opinion, and by the end of each call (usually terminated by the host) undermined the integrity of the subject matter or else made it very hard for the host to keep from laughing. This CD is a testament to the hilarious nature of prank calling. These calls should be archived and played on a daily basis.
