COVER EDGES AND CORNERS ARE SLIGHTLY WORN.  CORNERS HAVE SMALL FOLDS/CREASES.

Please remember these are used books.  I try to find books that are in good shape, but sometimes that is just not possible.  If I see something wrong with the book, I will describe the condition on the listing page.

Please contact me before bidding if you think I have a rare book or first edition book.  Sometimes the ISBN# for a book differs from the eBay listing.  I certainly don't want you to purchase something from me, only to find out it was listed incorrectly.

I only accept PayPal.  I'm sorry, but I don't accept checks or money orders. Also, if you are purchasing more than one item, and the auctions are ending on different days, please wait until you're finished shopping and then you can make one payment for all your books.

All orders are shipped media mail.  I ship the following business day after receiving a cleared payment.  If the post office takes longer than 2 - 9 business days, I apologize for the inconvenience, but it is a matter beyond my control.  Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico can take 3 - 6 weeks.  You will receive a tracking number from PayPal, so you can check on the status of your shipment at any time.

I charge $3.25 for shipping and $1.00 for each additional eligible book.  I do not offer refunds.  Insurance is available if you would like for $1.65.  If you choose the insurance coverage and your package gets lost or damaged you will be reimbursed for the price you purchased the book for.

Thank you for visiting Turnthepage45.  I hope you found what you were looking for.  I am trying to sell things that will interest a wide variety of people, so please send me a message if you're looking for a certain book or author, and I would be happy to try and find it for you.

Please feel free to contact me through eBay messaging, and I will try and get back to you asap.  If you have a problem or you're not satisfied for some reason, I would certainly like to hear from you.  I can't help you or find a solution to the problem if you just leave negative feedback.

Thank you again for your business and please come back soon!

Synopsis
It was the storm of the century—a tempest created by so rare a combination of factors that meteorologists deemed it "the perfect storm." When it struck in October, 1991, there was virtually no warning. "She's comin' on, boys, and she's comin' on strong," radioed Captain Billy Tyne of the Andrea Gail from off the coast of Nova Scotia. Soon afterward, the boat and its crew of six disappeared without a trace. The Perfect Storm is a real-life thriller, a stark and compelling journey into the dark heart of nature that leaves listeners with a breathless sense of what it feels like to be caught, helpless, in the grip of a force beyond understanding or control.
Sebastian Junger's thrilling narrative account of a 1991 storm in the North Atlantic and the plight of the crew on the Andrea Gail was a huge bestseller. Junger tells of the lives of the fishermen and of the town of Gloucester, Massachusetts, and includes much lore about fishing, the fishing industry, and the science of sea and weather. He also charts the daring attempts by members of various rescue agencies who braved intense weather conditions to find and rescue those lost at sea.

Publisher's Note
"Guaranteed to blow readers away...A+."
--Entertainment Weekly October 1991. It was "the perfect storm"--a tempest that may happen only once in a century--a nor'easter created by so rare a combination of factors that it could not possibly have been worse. Creating waves ten stories high and winds of 120 miles an hour, the storm whipped the sea to inconcievable levels few people on Earth have ever witnessed. Few, except the six-man crew of the Andrea Gail, a commercial fishing boat tragically headed towards its hellish center. With a New Afterword by the Author
"A superb book."
--Washington Post Book World
The incredible true account of the most extraordinary storm of the 20th century, this is the story of a tempest born from so rare a combination of factors it was deemed "perfect" and of the doomed fishing boat with her crew of six that was helpless in the midst of a force beyond comprehension. Told in exquisite detail, this "New York Times" bestseller has already left an indelible impression on critics and readers everywhere.

Industry reviews
"While the story recreates the fate of one particular boat, the book as a whole gives a fascinating insight into the workings of the sea and the lives of the men who earn a living from it."
Literary Review - Paddy Sutton (09/19/1997)

"Sebastian Junger declares that his own confrontation with the storm was limited to standing on the backshore of Gloucester, watching 30-foot swells approach Cape Ann. But he clearly went on to experience it through the words of the storm's survivors and those connected with the Andrea Gail. Interviewing them must have been a difficult, even intrusive job, but the result is thrilling--a boat ride into and (for us) out of a watery hell."
New York Times Book Review - Anthony Bailey (06/22/1997)

"Superb...told with authority, brio and deep sympathy for those in peril on the sea."
Washington Post Book World
