Very nice first edition of Edward Hungerford's ode to Macy's titled " The Romance of a Great Store." It was published in 1922 by Robert M. McBride & Company of New York, with 281 slightly toned pages and 8 fabulous illustrations by Vernon Howe Bailey including a terrific bird-s eye view of New York City circa 1858. Printed on rag style paper with a solid spine and a very good blue cloth cover with gold gilt titling. Cover just barely bumped and rubbed-really very nice! The rare first state dust jacket remains rough with chipping and edge wear and soiling and rubbing and separation and paper loss. It can easily be reinforced with an acetate jacket. Don't miss this one! NO reserve~!
