J.K. Rowling's new addition which was pre-ordered and delivered to me on the 10th ( I have the receipt from the bookseller) is a Luxuriously presented packaged Collector's Edition

Tucked in it's own Leather Bound case ( which loks like a real wizarding textbook from the Hogwarts Library),this Collector's Edition includes a reproduction of the author's handwritten intro as well as 10 ready for framing Illustrations not found in the Standard Editiion or the original.When you open the outer "Book" case it reveals a velevet bag in crimson with J.K. Rowling's embroidered signature which sits the Collector's Edition...complete with metal skull and metal corners and clasp.Faux Gemstones (to replicate the original,ultra rare few that were auctioned by Southeby's.The illustrations are enclosed in a velvet lined pocket on the inside of the outer book.

There is an enlightening and comprehensive commentary (including extensive footnotes) by Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore who brings the Wizard's Eye to the collected works.Many surprises including papers which Dumbledore left in his will to the Hogwarts Archives,the Venerable Wizard's ruminations on the Tales allow today's readers to place them in the context of the 16th Century Muggle Society,even allowing the "Beedle was somehow out of step with the times in preaching a message of brotherly love for Muggles"during the era of Witch Hunts that eventually drove the Wizarding Community into self-imposed exile.

Professor Dumbledore also includes fantastic historical backstory, including tidbits such as the history and pursuit of magic wands, a breif comment on the Dark Arts and it's practitioners and the struggles with censorship that eventually led to "a certain Beatrix Bloxam" to cleanse the Tales of "much of the darker themes she found distasteful." forever altering the meaning of the stories for their Muggle audience.Dumbledore also allows us a glimpse of his personal relationships with the Tales, remarking that it was through "Babbity Rabbity and Her Cackling Stump", that "many of us [wizards] " first discovered Magic could not bring back the dead.
