The Treasure by Paul W. Eaton; R. F. Fenno & Co., NY; C. 1909. 410 pages. About 7 3/4 by 5 1/4 inches. There are 4 illustrations other than the frontispiece. Some of the chapter titles: The Pirate's Treasure; The Sea Fight; Dolly Madison; General Ross, State Secrets; The Battle; At Sea; and MORE! A section "Notes" at the end adds info about certain events in the chapters and ends with "The facts of history have not been materially departed from in this narrative, except as regards the supposed attempt to capture Portland, and the assumed presence of the Hero with the Boxer before her fight with the Enterprise." There is a name written in the front; otherwise the pages are clean. Binding is tight. The title and author's name on the cover are still bright gold. There is some edgewear on the cover and bumping to the cover corners and spine top & bottom. NOT ex-library. All proceeds benefit Milanof-Schock Library, our public library in Mount Joy, PA. |
