Being for the most part contributions by Union and Confederate Officers condensed and arranged for popular reading. Included are copies of many letters of famous generals. One of these is Stonewall Jackson's last dispatch to Robert E. Lee. This book has quite a history. It was made from a collection of magazine articles originally published in Century magazine. One time when Grant was recovering from an injury which forced him to stay close to home, he agreed to do 4 articles for Century magazine. Grant so enjoyed this endeavor that he went on to write his personal memoirs that restored his families fortune. If not for Century magazine, Grant's memoirs may never have come about. There is also a roster table that shows how many troops each state contributed. This table shows troop type and aggregate death totals, 321 Pages.

About Our CDs
Unlike many of our competitors most of our CDs are composed of collections of multiple texts and documents concentrating on a specific region or subject area. Many contain 5, 10, even 20 separate publications - each individually worth many times the cost of the CD. Each CD is truly a reference BONANZA to the family historian with thousands of pages of research information - all complete copies of the originals. The age of most of these text make them inaccessible to the average researcher. Naturally their scarcity and fragility makes them very expensive to acquire, for historical societies, libraries and individuals. When they are acquired they are often kept under lock and key in an effort to preserve them. Unfortunately this also makes them unavailable for research. Our CDs contain exact electronic copies of each text as described. They are produced by scanning the actual pages of the original text making them not only excellent resources but archival copies available for future generations. If you could find a hard copy of any of these books it would cost hundreds of dollars. The average cost of a single CD, containing our "theme or regional" based collections has been kept affordable in an effort to make this information obtainable to as many home researchers as possible. Our CDs have become the ultimate research tool. Having a copy on hand allows research at your leisure and your schedule while in the comfort of your home. Additionally you can still print individual or groups of pages as you need directly from your CDs. Giving you the best of both old and new research techniques. Unless otherwise noted most pdf Files are now searchable. Searchable pdf files allow single or multiple file searches with one search request. For further information on searchable pdf files, their accuracy rate and production process, please refer to our main site Web Site. The CDs are designed around a central menu which opens much like a web page (utilizing your browser and a link like navigation system.) This makes them easy to navigate and extremely user friendly, even for those new at computer research. The only requirement is that you have the most current Adobe Reader version available for your operating system. Adobe'e newest version of Adobe Reader is 7.0.
