Organized and cataloged, the collection is meticulously
maintained and housed in a climate-controlled warehouse.
Every recording in this amazing collection has been
personally acquired by the collection’s owner over the
past fifty years and represents a lifetime of work and his
desire to see the music preserved for future generations.
Deteriorating health and related financial concerns are
forcing the owner to sell the collection at far less than its
true value. The estimated value of the collection, on a
per-item basis, is in excess of $50 million.

While we have no control over what the new owner of the collection will do with it, it’s the owner’s desire that the archive portion of the collection remain intact for its cultural and historical significance. Selling the collection’s many, many duplicates on the collectables market could help recoup a substantial portion of the purchase price without compromising the archived portion or diminishing the total number of song titles.
This collection is an important part of the cultural history of America, and truly belongs in a museum. If you’re interested in creating a museum around the collection, e-mail the seller’s representative at jpaul@perigee.net for suggestions on possible tax benefits and how to make a museum self-sustaining.

All bidders must be pre-approved. Pre-approved bidders will be given confidential access to the sellers database, with listings and comprehensive information on the entire 45 RPM portion of the collection. Adding the LPs to the database is still work in progress. But viewing the singles portion of the collection will give you a good idea of the depth and breadth of the collection.
