                            Set of 5 Theodore Haviland cups, saucer, salad plate, and fruit bowl!

 

There are 2 cups, 1 saucer, 1 salad plate, and 1 fruit/ dessert bowl.

The pattern is called Jewel. Very elegant set. They are white shiny porcelain with gold leave on the edges of the plates and on the cups the gold leave is also on the outside of the handles. There are red, blue, yellow, and pink flowers all over in the design.

The cups are 3 1/2" wide at top and the base is 1 3/4" and 2" in height.

The saucer is 5 3/4" diameter.

The salad plate is 7 1/2" in diameter.

The fruit bowl is 5" in diameter and 1" in height

 

Theodore Haviland and Charles Haviland, two sons of David Haviland, they both played leading roles in their father’s china company from its inception in 1864. The company dissolved in 1891 after the father died and the two sons had their differences. Both opened their own companies. In 1941 William Haviland, Theodore’s son obtained all the rights to the old Haviland & Co. marks and models. The two companies again became one, under the name “Haviland S.A”

 

One of the cups has a large crack and the other cup has a slight nick in the rim. The saucer has no cracks, chips, or nicks. The salad plate has a light nick on the bottom. And the fruit/ dessert bowl has no cracks, chips, or nicks.
