Title:Thermodynamics Author:I.P. Bazarov, Translated by F. Immirzi, Translation Edited by A.E.J. Hayes Publisher:Macmillan - 1964 Size:Octavo
The author of this text passed away relatively recently, on April 18, 2005. Ivan Pavlovich Bazarov was a doctor of Physicomathematical Sciences, and an honored professor of statistical physics at Moscow State University. He was also a USSR State Prize laureate and a figher in Russia's war with Germany in World War II (referred to in former Soviet states as the Great Patriotic War), in which he was awarded (among other medals) the Red Star Order, the Combat Valor Medal, and the For Stalingrad Defense Medal.
He wrote this book as a textbook for his students, and it was the main guide on the subject (at least in Russia) for 45 years or more, and was translated into multiple languages. This is the English translation.
This book was the first textbook to cover relativistic thermodynamics and the theory of critical indices.
