Evan Handler, aged 24, was at the beginning of a promising acting career. But then he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and told he might not survive. Withdrawing from Neil Simon's "Biloxi Blues," Handler entered Sloan Kettering to begin treatment for his cancer. What followed was a journey Handler eventually termed "a raucous romp through hell." Expanded from his off-Broadway show, "Time on Fire," Handler's memoir is an account of illness, fear, hope, suffering, and determination.
