Tommy has always been one of the best riders in the AMA paddock, but he is done chasing his dream of being an AMA champion. Tommy finally became a champion in 2004 by winning the 2004 Supersport Championship aboard his Factory Kawasaki ZX6RR. In 1997 he was named the Superbike Rookie of the year. In 1999, he finished 2nd in the 600 Supersport class, behind his younger brother, Nicky Hayden. Nicky has since left the series to compete in MotoGP with Valentino Rossi, Colin Edwards, Troy Bayliss, Nori Haga and John Hopkins. His new success is the Supersport and Superstock classes. He has won his third consecutive race and leads the class in points. His teammate this year is Roger Lee Hayden. He doesn't race the Superbike Class anymore so he doesn't have to race against these guys: Miguel Duhamel(Honda), Ben Bostrom, Mat Mladin(Suzuki), Aaron Yates, Eric Bostrom(Ducati), and Jake Zemke(Erion Honda). He will have to race against: Anthony Gobert, Ben Spies, Roger Lee Hayden, Jamie Hacking, Damon Buckmaster, Aaron Gobert, Alex Gobert, Steve Rapp, and Jason Disalvo.
