Tony Conigliaro Joe DiMaggio Rose USO Flyer Signed Copy

COPY USO Tour Flyer November 1st 1967 In Association with the Commissioner of Baseball  in Viet Nam and Thailand for 17 days.  The Stars who signed flyer made into copy are Joe Dimaggio, Tony Conigliario, Pete Rose, Jerry Coleman, and Bob Fishel.  Size 8-1/2 X 11 inches. Great historical item. 

Teams represented New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds. In his book Tony C. by David Cataneo Tony talks about the effect the 17 day tour had on him, giving details of the battles, the body bags and the american soldgers many younger than him. who were injured in battle and asked from hospital beds, 'Hey, Tony how your eye?' making tony realize so much... Acquired from member of the entertainment portion of the tour with a group named "Robin & The Woodsmen".  The MLB players conducted a handshake tour, and we provided the singing entertainment.   The autographs acquired by the band member while on the tour with them.  The flyer is in excellent condition with strong hand signed autographs. Joe Dimaggio rarly came out of his room but one nite he did and the band member got him to sign along with the other tour members under their photos. Could be used as an agument of why Pete Rose should be in HOF. This is a must for the serious collector. COPY (Hyy)

  Tony Conigliaro Boston Red Sox.  Local Boston sports hero born in East Boston, broke into lineup at 19 years old, hit home run his first pitch at Fenway Park Opening Day in front of the Robert Kennedy, Ted Kennedy and family with funds going to the JFK Library. Youngest player to hit 100 home runs, led the league in home runs 1965. Hit by a pich in 1967 that ruined his carear, possibly leading to his early death. Great heart and soul as attempted many comebacks in 1968, 1969, and 1975.
