This card came in a grouping of WWI Era Italian Patriotic themed postcards. I will be listing them in individual listings. All of them are either 1918 postmarked, or like this one shown (written on) but not specifically dated as from the subject, style, paper used to be from that c1918 Era. From my brief reading on Italy and WWI. Italy did not fair well during this war. She initially allied herself with the Austro-Hungarian side at the start of the war, but in basically a non-combatant ally role, later she was convinced to join the allies, and by 1918 was actively participating in the war, but had some resounding battle loses, and did not get the preferential treatment afforded the US, France, and Great Britain at the treaty of Versailles that ended the war. None the less, these patriotic images to me are beautiful. With the exception of the last listing, they all have minor, normal expected wear, minor curling and are in overall good condition for their age. (this is the last one and the condition for this one I consider "fair", and selling "as found", because there is quite a bit of creasing, please keep that in mind when bidding) The scans are accurate and should help the viewer determine what they think of the cards overall as well as the condition. This care is titled "Saluti dal Regimento", and shows a tough looking soldier with a rifle This would be a great one to frame for those in WWI themes. Properly matted and framed this would be preserved and this would present well. This card is rare, chances are that if you would like a vintage example of this card, especially anytime soon, you will likely need to get it here. I am pleased to offer this historic card for consideration. Check out my other items!
