This is a lovely pair of matched Tourmaline Cabochons in smokey, pastel shades of lilac and green. They are carved and polished on both sides. The top has a 4mm wide shallow groove down the length of the stone, with two parallel carved lines on one side and six on the other. The back (see picture 4) is carved horizontally, with pairs of parallel lines spaced about 5mm apart. Since the material is fairly transparent, there's an interesting image when held up to the light, as the front and back carved patterns overlay each other. These stones are only lightly included, especially for tourmaline, and these internal inclusions are gently curved, providing a contrast to the geometric carving. Nice sized stones, at over an inch long and almost half an inch wide! Obviously a beautiful pair of earrings-to-be, or a fine collectible as is.
