Here is one of many items from the estate of a retired radio, TV, telephone, and electronics repair-salesman. His name was Hugo Oliver and his amateur radio call sign was W2HQF. There are many vacuum tubes, others parts, consumer electronics, tools and test equipment to be had; I will be listing these in the months to come.
This is for ONE 5933/807W beam power tube. Hugo either bought them in bulk or as military surplus and I believe it to be unused. There were many of these wrapped in mid 1950s newspapers that had gotten wet at one time, all of the newspaper came off this tube. Because of the moisture, the pins and top caps had some very minor oxidation that came right off with a gentle brass wire brushing before testing.
It has ribbed black plates, four rectangular side getters, thick mica, and a brown base. The base is printed in green "JAN-CHS-5933 MADE IN U.S.A. SYLVANIA 234". The glass has a silk screen branding of two vertically joined hexagons, the top one has '5933' inside and the bottom one has '807W' with 'F2S' outside and underneath. And on my early 1950s EICO Model 625 Tube Tester it passed all tests for shorts, open elements, and filament continuity. Also scoring 84 out of 100 for emission; I have no way of knowing what a new tube is supposed to score but it's a bit low considering most of the others tested in the mid to high 90s. Tube will be retested before shipping. 2.5 oz actual weight.
