Tungsten Metal Cylinder (1kg element sample)

Tungsten (W) is an amazingly dense element: at 19.3 g per cubic cm the same as gold and much denser than lead. This 99.9% pure W cylinder is at full theoretical density (unlike some other samples offered on eBay which have a density < 19.0). The W cylinder is 55mm (2.1 inches) long and 35mm (1.4 inches) in diameter. It weighs an incredible 1kg (2.2 lb). Picking up this W cylinder invariably brings a smile to the face of someone who does it for the first time (this piece makes an excellent physics teaching aid). The W cylinder is a truly splendid lump of matter. Astonishingly heavy. These samples are similar to ones included in our periodic table museum displays (see periodictabletable.com).
