Working Astatic Model 30 "Biscuit" Microphone Harp Mic
This is a very nice working Astatic Model 30 microphone with
stand. I tested this mike through an amplifier and it sounds
great!
I carefully opened the front to take a picture of the element
as seen in the above photo. It has a stamp for June, 1942
("JUN 42").
The mike has the original 5/8 Switchcraft connector. Adapters
to a 1/4" plug are redilly available.
I found the following descriptions of this model on the Internet:
The model 30 microphone, better known as the "biscuit"
mic which is only slightly larger in diameter than the
element itself. The biscuit mic is one of the samllest
mic shells available to use with almost any good element
including the Shure CR and CM elements. This model 30
crystal had a big bold sound similar to the Shure crystals.
These crystals have a fat bold tone with great low
end response.
No manuals, cables, or accessories are included other than specified
above.
