This is a restored and reformatted UNFRAMED 8½” x 11” ad that appeared in a Broadcasting magazine in the Summer of 1948. The ad features the Turner Model 87 Velocity Ribbon Microphone, a mike that looks very similar to RCA’s BK-11A. It doesn’t have the extended high frequency response of the BK-11A, but it does offer standard mike threads and four switchable impedance options, including Hi-Z. The ad also features photos of 5 other famous Turner dynamic mikes, including three with cool art deco chrome case designs.
I’ve added color to this black and white ad based on studying photos in books and on the internet. The ad has a new Turner logo that I have not seen on any of their mikes. Each photo was separately processed to remove the half-tone dots, remove printing defects, and enhance the resolution; the photos are larger in size than in the original ad. This ad is printed on thick, glossy Epson Photo Paper using a 6-color photo printer. It is really stunning, as you can see in the photograph below.
