I beleive these to be reproductions.

 

Whale Tooth Scrimshaw Replica Pieces. A few knowledgeable people who have told me that they are made of composite resin material and so I am selling them as such.1st piece measures approx. 5-3/4 inches long by 2-1/2 inches wide and weighs 15 OZ. It shows a sailing ship on one side with an eye (that is on both sides) to give the tip the look of a fish or a bird. The other side shows a whaling scene with the large ship, smaller boats and whales. It also has the written words "The Marquesas Is." On the bottom are the written words "The Whaler Young Phoenix".

The other tooth has no words and I dont know much about it. It weighs 4.5 OZ and measures 2 1/2 tall and 2 1/4 wide at the widest point.

 

All sale final and payment to be received 3 days after close of auction.
